Blog Intro Special: Alessia Cara (2) - Week of February 11, 2017

Welcome back to another blog intro post! Sorry if I'm spamming you with posts at the moment. I wonder how much longer it's going to take for someone besides Hollow Man to comment on my blogs. But that doesn't matter at the moment. This is still only the first month and I can take that. But this week is getting worse and worse. I mean, take a look at like four of our five debuts. They are not good. And the fifth one is like...mediocre, at the very best. I can't take this anymore, like I said again. I hope next week is a better week. Hopefully there can actually be good entrants and good exits next week. I highly doubt that, though. Let's get to our exits:

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Justin Bieber - Love Yourself

Greatest Gainer: The Chainsmokers - Paris (#14)

Hot Shot Debut: Julia Michaels - Issues (#31)

New Entrants

-We're first going to start out with our trashy rap song that just debuted this week. This one is Bad & Boujee. I was praying back then that this song wouldn't become a hit, but unfortunately it did. Literally, spending three weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 and blocking out Shape of You two weeks in a row from that chart from #1, that song was a hit. I don't exactly know what to say about this song other than that it's a really trashy rap song and I hope that I don't have to explain this song any further for you rap fans. Hopefully this song doesn't do well here, and besides, this is a pop songs chart, not a rap songs chart.

-Next up is Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter. It starts out with a bunch of horrible singing, the verses are terrible, and the music is complete trash. Not to mention that this song is a bit catchy. But I still can't take this song. I don't think a single person out there likes this song at all. The most annoying verse out of all of them is the "skiddy-da-dum-dum" which she pretty much sings every other line in the song. And what's up with the horrible, annoying, repetitive "Somewhere in the world." I can't take this song anymore. What kind of makes me like this song somewhat is that me and Sabrina Carpenter have a common birthday.  Hopefully this song doesn't do well here. But it looks like this song could become a hit after all.

-Our mediocre song out of the five debuts and frankly the best one is Marian Hill with Down. Okay, no, I do not hate this song, because I can't hate it with the catchy music. The official video is actually pretty good, but the lyrics are straight dumb. It sounds like Marian Hill is trying to say "Are you dumb?" instead of "Are you down?" The music between beats are pretty much just space fillers and they're pretty lame in my opinion. Once again, no, I do not hate this song, I just think that the song is rather mediocre, and that Marian Hill really needs to step her game up, especially on this song. To be honest with you, I think that Hollow Man, Adrian, ., Parker, and Jack are going to adore this song. But not me.

-Next up is Starley with Call On Me. Personally, a song that says "You can call on me" is really bad already on its own. But to be honest with you, the music in this song is awful. How can I even stand to even listen to this song when I'm in my car turning up my local radio? The lyrics are straight up trash, and the way that Starley signs this horrible song pretty much makes this song even worse. I've heard much worse songs than this one, so I'm not saying that this song is the worst, but it's really bad. I hate it when people request songs like this one on the radio. This song actually has a good YouTube streak already, which I'm pretty much afraid of right now. Hopefully that on its own doesn't mean that this song is going to do well here, and let's hope that this song flops here instead.

-Our last, highest ranking debut, highest debut, and the worst debut of this week, we have Julia Michaels with Issues. To be honest, this song is having a negative impact on the music industry if I really want 2017 to be a better year for music. First off, we have the world of nothingness going on here, and what is that? I've got issues, you've got them too has got to be one of the most annoying and repetitive verses that I have ever heard in my life. I can't exactly say that this song is going to flop because it's actually gaining on the Hot 100, which means that it's going to gain on here. The way Julia Michaels sings this song pretty much makes the song even worse.I can't exactly say that this song won't become a big hit, because I know that it will, considering how much it's gaining on the Billboard Hot 100 at this point, which makes me really mad. Let's hope that this song doesn't become a hit here.

Blog Intro Special: Alessia Cara (1) - Week of February 4, 2017

This week is a legend. A legend, to be exact. Guess what the legend is. (It's not really a legend, but should be recognized regardless). So first off, this week was probably a little bit better, but not that much. I did introduce two more colors, which were purple and orange, and you all probably know what those colors stand for. I didn't have brown until I started blogging. So now I'll tell you what the "legend" is. Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara is now fourth place for the longest climb to number one on the pop songs charts on its 24th week. Tied for second is Forget You by CeeLo Green and Give Your Heart A Break by Demi Lovato with reaching #1 on its 25th week. And in first place (the sole first place) is Here by Alessia Cara, reaching #1 on the pop charts on its 26th week. But whatever. I bet half of my readers don't even care about records on the pop charts in the first place, just records in the hot 100. Anyways, here's our exit that we're finally bidding good day to.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Alessia Cara - Here (Coincidence?)

Hot Shot Debut: Bruno Mars - That's What I Like

Greatest Gainer: The Chainsmokers - Paris

New Entrants

-Our lone entrant this week has to come from the trashy Bruno Mars with That's What I Like. Honestly, 24K Magic was basically a pot-hole of a mess, but this song is exactly three times worse. I mean, Bruno Mars back then was much better when he made songs such as Uptown Funk, but honestly this song, Versace on the Floor, and 24K Magic are complete atrocious. I hate the repetitive "lucky for you, that's what i like" and the music is horrifying. The verses are terrible, and the way Bruno Mars sings them makes it even worse. Can we please stop it, Bruno Mars? Your music is getting nowhere. I also find the production of the song to be really lazy, as well. This is basically a recreation of the worst parts of 24K Magic combined with Versace on the Floor. Despite my rant for this song, though, it's not the worst on the countdown, but if it becomes as big as a hit as 24K Magic (which I shouldn't be surprised if it didn't), or even an even bigger hit than 24K Magic (which probably won't happen, but still could), then this song can go in pink. But for now, I'm definitely not enjoying this song, and it doesn't look like I will ever enjoy this song in the future if it becomes a hit.

Blog Intro Special: Maroon 5 + Kendrick Lamar (1) - Week of January 28, 2017

I can't exactly say that this week was great, even though like the best song of this year so far debuted the countdown and was even a hot shot debut. Billboard just had to get rid of one of the best songs of last year, and our #1 song doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The Greatest Gainer doesn't make any sense either, which doesn't surprise me, since that song already debuted at #1 on the Billboard. And we have a bunch of space fillers here, and hopefully all of those songs will be gone soon and replaced with other songs, even if they are songs that I don't necessarily like. We again, have a really boring two-exit week this week. I know most of you blogging right now probably know how bad two-exit weeks are, since that means that there isn't a lot of activity going on on the countdown. Anyways, let's get to our exits.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Selena Gomez - Same Old Love

Hot Shot Debut: The Chainsmokers - Paris

Greatest Gainer: Ed Sheeran - Shape of You

New Entrants
-The less interesting debut this week comes from G-Eazy and Marc E. Bassy with Some Kind of Drug. Honestly, I'm not liking this song that much. There's these vocals that can get annoying sometimes, but the music is catchy. Honestly, a song with this title will definitely not get any recognition. I barely hear this song is a close second. I highly doubt that this song is going to stay on here long, then, and it is definitely going to flop. I can't exactly see myself hating this song anytime soon, but even then, it's closer to red than it is to green. So yeah, I could be somehow liking this song, but I'm definitely not loving it.

-Our more interesting and better debut this week, and the best song of 2017 so far comes from The Chainsmokers with their new single Paris. I don't exactly see how any Chainsmokers song can be bad. The pre-chorus is amazing, along with the first verses. The verses can get really repetitive though, but it's not that I'm going to hate the song, it's just that I don't see this song becoming as big as a hit as Closer became or maybe even The Chainsmokers/Rozes - Roses. The version with Emily Warren in it is actually better, which is the version that I'm grading, and is probably the only reason that this song is in blue in the first place to begin with. The music is amazing, and the lyrics are really good. So yeah, I hope that this song can somewhat have some success, but I can't see this song hitting #1 here.

Blog Intro Special: Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj (5) - Week of January 21, 2017

Here we go again with the third leg of our journey here. Honestly, the chart keeps on getting worse and worse. Either it's because of overplay exposure, or that's who it just goes. To be honest here, even former #1's on this chart I'm starting to get a little sick of. Our top 10 hasn't changed in like forever. Hopefully things will be a lot better next week, but I highly doubt it. It's enough. But at least we got really good exits leaving us.

1. Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side to Side (#1) (fifth week at #1)

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Selena Gomez - Same Old Love

Hot Shot Debut & Greatest Gainer: Ed Sheeran - Shape of You

New Entrants
-At #40 we have Calum Scott with Dancing On My Own. Personally, this is a really good song, despite it being boring and all of that. I know that many critics are going to disagree with me, but I definitely like this one. The piano ballad makes it even better. But I can kind of already predict that this song is going to flop here since it isn't really popular anywhere else, sadly.

-The less interesting song that debuts this week is Shape of You by Ed Sheeran. Personally, I liked Thinking Out Loud, Photograph, and I already like Castle on the Hill. But when Ed Sheeran does things without his guitar the production always turns out lazy. The pre-chorus is horrifying, and the lyrics are just straight up annoying, at most mediocre. The vocals are okay, but the music is trash since Ed Sheeran isn't using his guitar for any of this. I can already understand why this song debuted so high, because it's predicted to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 next week. I don't know why the Billboard likes this song so much to begin with. And this song is most likely going to be at #1 here as well unless with a miracle it doesn't, and with a double miracle it just somehow flops, which is really unlikely.

-This is the week when I start posting my top 5 picks and my bottom 5 picks.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Martin Garrix/Bebe Rexha - In the Name of Love
2. OneRepublic - Kids
3. The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer

3. Bruno Mars - 24K Magic
4. Nick Fradini - All On You
5. Drake - Fake Love

Blog Intro Special: Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj (4) - Week of January 14, 2017

Hi guys and welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the post that I created like week! That is because that this is only the 2nd out of the twelve weeks that I missed out from. I already stated my intro in which you can check out here. Again, this week is one of the boring one-week exits. Most of you reviewing the Hits 1 Weekend Countdown can tell how boring it is when there is only one exit. Don't worry. I feel you also. The reason that I'm not having any blurbs, any top/bottom picks, and a top 20 review is because one, I didn't have those things when I did it on my own computer using OneNote, and two, this is supposed to be a quick special, but instead of using one post, I'm using 12 posts total. I hope you enjoyed last week's post (again), because this is the week after this (from the title). Anyways, enough talking. Let's get to our exit:

New Entrants
-So our lone entrant at the bottom comes from Noah Cyrus and Labrinth with Make Me (Cry). I'm going to be honest here, I at first thought that this song was going to be trash but believe it or not I actually like it. The water effect is cool, the lyrics are great, and I love what each of the people have to contribute. The music is amazing, and it's pretty much one of my favorite songs on the chart right now. Let's hope that this song can have somewhat a success here.

Blog Intro Special: Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj (3) - Week of January 7, 2017

Hello! I'm continuing my blog intro special with the first week of this year on the Billboard Pop Chart. I wish I started this blog like at the start of the year just because, so I decided to make a "Blog Intro Special" which basically has twelve posts reviewing the twelve first weeks at I missed. This will also help me make my records page for this blog, similar to what . does on his blog, except for the fact that I'm removing a few sections and adding some more that I think are relevant to the chart itself. Another thing to mention that when I first reviewed them (not on this blog), I only had green, yellow, red, dark green, and turquoise. I didn't have purple or blue back then, but I'm adding them here because at the end of each post I had a favorite and least favorite song. I didn't have any blurbs back then or a top 20 review, but I am going to review the new entrants. Very few songs on this chart were actually on the latest chart (check my latest post, if you want). So let's to our exit:
  • X Ambassadors - Unsteady (#11) [YES!!!!!!!!!!]

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Justin Bieber - Sorry

Hot Shot Debut: Clean Bandit/Sean Paul/Anne Marie - Rockabye

Greatest Gainer: Zayn Malik/Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever

New Entrants
-So our lone entrant comes from Clean Bandit and Sean Paul and Anne Marie with Rockabye. Personally, I have mixed feelings on this song. We have the catchy chorus, but the lyrics aren't that good. I mean, it sounds like Anne Marie is talking to like little kids when she sings her lines, and Sean Paul with his "rocka-rocka-rocka-bye" is actually kind of stupid. The thing that makes up for the song is the music and the catchiness of the song. I think saying that the song is bad would be an overexaggeration. But while it's in yellow at the moment, it's definitely closer to red than it is to green. Rating: 5.5/10

-I hope you enjoyed-seeing my review for this week along with past weeks to come (reviews, to be honest). Thanks for reading!
