My Top 40 Songs from 2014-2018 Rankdown

The credit for this idea goes to the other bloggers who also have done rankdowns of their own, whom I got the inspiration from, as well as the Pulse Music Boards, where the game originated from.

Hello, guys! I will be doing a rankdown based off of my favorite songs from 2014-2018. This will be very interesting, given the fact that you could grasp what my guilty pleasures and true opinions were over a span of five years.

Just rank all of the songs based off of your opinions on each song. #1 will be your favorite song, and #40 will be your least favorite. As submissions are closed, the Google Form to submit your submissions is closed.

The exact times will be announced as the results get closer to the actual dates. After each date, I will post closeness rankings. This basically determines how close a person's ranking is to the actual ranking on this chart on average. In other words, this is the absolute difference in spots in between ranking and rankdown ranks. All times are in Eastern Time.

NOTE: FUTURE TIMES ARE NOT SET IN STONE AND MAY BE DELAYED IF THERE IS AN UNEXPECTED OCCURRENCE ON MY PART. THOSE TIMES, HOWEVER, ARE THE EARLIEST IN WHICH THEY WILL BE REVEALED. IF THERE IS A TIME CHANGE THERE WILL BE AT LEAST A 2-HOUR NOTICE IN ADVANCE.

Ranking and Tiebreaker Rules
Songs are ranked based off of their average rankings from every participant. The song with the lowest average ranking (aka generally the "best" song) is at #1. The song with the highest average ranking (aka generally the "worst" song) is at #40.

In this rankdown, there were two ties in average ranks within the competition. In that event, the song with the higher standard deviation will be ranked higher. You will see an example of this on the very first day of reveals.

-As I have mentioned before, this song is way too overhated. There might not be much to this song, but it's really catchy and Meghan Trainor has amazing vocals. Furthermore, I find the music to be great. But I can see why many people here wouldn't think the same.

-Adrian, Matthew, and PlasmaVortex28 clear out their bottom ranking. On the other side, WAMB10 gets her first top 10 loss here.

-I definitely get the hate for this song. But it's also catchy, and I really like the music to this song. And it's pretty weird, but in a slightly good way. I reckon this is probably my biggest guilty pleasure...yeah.

-Grandpa is the first to lose his #1. Two other people lose a top 10 ranking. On the other side, Jack and Nick clear out their bottom ranking. Five other people also clear out a bottom 5 ranking.

-It's pretty self-explanatory as to why this song is good. The drums, the rapping, the vocals are amazing from this duo. This is the song that I want to hear from Twenty One Pilots and not a song like Heathens.

My Opinion: Mediocre
Comments: I at first thought this song was pretty catchy, but that has changed. The production is pretty bad in this song as well. There's nothing special about this song.

Extra 2: Zedd/Alessia Cara - Stay
My Opinion: Bad
Comments: I think it's somewhat pretty self-explanatory as to why I don't like this. Unlike in The Middle, the ticking clock doesn't go with this song as well.  Alessia's vocals are good, but she doesn't use it in this song. What's even worse about this song is that radio abused this song a lot.

Extra 3: One Direction - Perfect
My Opinion: Good
Comments: The music in the song is okay, but what really stands out to me is the vocals. There's nothing much to say beyond that.

Comments: I was actually considering putting this on the list. But it unfortunately didn't make the cut. That doesn't mean that it isn't a high heaven song. Everything in this song, from the vocals to the rapping, is just amazing. This is one of the best rap songs ever.

My Opinion: Mediocre
Comments: My opinion pretty much explains it all. There is almost nothing good to this song whatsoever. Camila's voice can be extremely grating, and the way she tries to rhyme "heroin" and "nicotine" does not work. But at times I do find it somewhat catchy. But it's definitely not to the point in which I would enjoy this song, because I really don't.

Extra #8: Ed Sheeran - Shape of You
My Opinion: Awful
Comments: This is probably one of the most overrated songs of all time. First, Ed Sheeran doesn't sound good in this song without his guitar, and the music is pretty bland too. I'm shocked that most people like this song but whatever.

My Opinion: Decent
