My Top 40 Songs (2014-2018)

Hello guys! So for this post I've decided to count down the top 40 songs from the last 5 years (2014-2018). I will do a rankdown with this songs, and I encourage all of you to do it. You can find the rankdown information here. I will also post comments for some of the highlights on this list as we go. If I do not comment on a song that you want me to comment on, ask me and I'll do it.

Here is the link to the form if you're too lazy: link

For now, here is the list:

40 STARBOY The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk

39 SHE LOOKS SO PERFECT 5 Seconds of Summer

38 RENEGADES X Ambassadors

37 LOVE LIES Khalid featuring Normani

36 STRIP THAT DOWN Liam Payne featuring Quavo

35 SHAKE IT OFF Taylor Swift

34 ROSES The Chainsmokers featuring Rozes

33 STRESSED OUT Twenty One Pilots

32 UNFORGETTABLE French Montana featuring Swae Lee

31 ALL ABOUT THAT BASS Meghan Trainor (2014)
I strongly believe that this song is way too over-hated. This is a funky dance song with some amazing music attached to it. (Yes, I'm looking at the few of you who consider this to be one of the worst songs of all time for no apparent reason).

30 NICE FOR WHAT Drake

29 SCARS TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL Alessia Cara

28 BANG BANG Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj

27 1-800-273-8255 Logic, Alessia Cara, and Khalid

26 YOUNGBLOOD 5 Seconds of Summer

25 SLOW HANDS Niall Horan

24 WIGGLE Jason Derulo

23 GOOD FOR YOU Selena Gomez

22 PASSIONFRUIT Drake

21 RIDE Twenty One Pilots

20 MINE Bazzi (2018)
An amazing mix of trap and pop music, despite its length. There really is no reason for me to hate this song at all.

19 I TOOK A PILL IN IBIZA Mike Posner

18 LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO Ellie Goulding

17 NO TEARS LEFT TO CRY Ariana Grande

16 HERE Alessia Cara

15 SCARED TO BE LONELY Martin Garrix featuring Dua Lipa

14 STITCHES Shawn Mendes

13 BURN Ellie Goulding

12 LOVE ME HARDER The Weeknd and Ariana Grande (2015)
You can think what you think of this song, but I think it's an amazing song from both artists. Sure, the verses can get really repetitive, but nevertheless the lyrical content is amazing. The music is really good as well. We need songs like these on the charts these days.

11 CLOSER The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey

10 CAN'T FEEL MY FACE The Weeknd

9 THE MIDDLE Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey

8 SHUT UP AND DANCE Walk the Moon

7 KIDS OneRepublic (2017)
I can only recall one person that doesn't like this song at all. But I really like this song, and the majority of people would agree with me. Funky, iconic pop song.

6 COUNTING STARS OneRepublic

5 GIRLS LIKE YOU Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B (2018)
A very iconic pop song with amazing music and vocals from both artists. The song sounds like something I've heard years ago when music was much better.

4 BETTER NOW Post Malone

3 UPTOWN FUNK! Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars

2 THE HILLS The Weeknd (2015)
The Hills is basically a very catchy twist with an ending twist to the song. This is the kind of dark song that I want to hear from The Weeknd, more so than #10 and #12. The music is also extremely good. This is one of the best R&B songs I have heard in my life.

1 WAKE ME UP! Avicii (2014)
You can call this a 2013 or 2014 song if you want to. But I'm going to call it a 2014 song because it was more popular then (and of course so I could put it on this rankdown). This song is perfection in every way, and there is nothing I would change from this song. This is my second favorite song so far this decade (and given that it's currently 2019, probably for the entire decade).
